Test Before Use

Whenever using a new skin care product, it's important to do a patch test before use to ensure that no allergic reactions occur. Perform a patch test 24 hours prior to use by rubbing a small amount of the product into the skin. If an allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use.

Preservative Free

Whipped body butters are anhydrous products, meaning that they don't contain any water. Our body butters contain absolutely no preservatives. This means that water SHOULD NOT be introduced to the product, as it can diminish the shelf life of the body butter by causing it to spoil faster. So please, do your whipped body butter a favor and keep it away from water.

Melted Whipped Body Butters

Much like regular butter, shea butter is heat sensitive. In hot temperatures, it is possible for whipped body butters to melt while in transit. In efforts to prevent this from happening, we freeze the body butters for 24 hours prior to shipping. Unfortunately, we don't have much control over the temperatures that the body butters are exposed to once they've shipped. Therefore, we can't promise that they won't melt between when they are shipped and when they arrive at your door.

The body butters are most likely to melt when they are left outside for an extended period of time. You can help prevent them from melting by doing either of the following:

  • Watch your tracking number to get an estimate of when your package will arrive.
  • Have your package delivered to a PO box or your local post office for pickup.
  • Have your package delivered to a friend or neighbor who will be home at the time of delivery.
  • Have your package delivered to your workplace. This way you can collect your package as soon as it's delivered.

What happens if my body butter melts?

Firstly, it is important to know that when whipped body butter melts, it loses most of its volume. This will cause the jar to appear as if it isn't full. However, this isn't the case. The process of whipping body butter introduces air into it, giving it that light, soft, and fluffy texture. If your whipped body butter melts, you don't have to throw it out. It can still be used as great moisturizer for your skin along with all of the other benefits it provides. Simply place it in the fridge for up to one hour until the product solidifies. If, by chance, the butter feels grainy, this is because the fatty acids in the butter cooled at different temperatures. If you'd still like to have that luxurious whipped texture, shoot us an email at info@glowisme.com and we'll send you instructions on how to re-whip it!
